Marilyn Johnston received a writing fellowship from Oregon Literary Arts and won the Donna J. Stone National Literary Award for Poetry, as well as a Robert Penn Warren writing competition prize. A recent poetry collection, Before Igniting, was published by Rippling Brook Press. She teaches creative writing in the Artists in the Schools program.
