The first color reprints of Frida Kahlo’s artwork published in the U.S.

The first English translations of work by Nobel Laureate Wislawa Szymborska

A dual-language collection of translated work featuring the Nobel prize-winner Wislawa Szymborska and the first color reprints of Frida Kahlo’s art work published in the U.S. Includes works by 37 women writers and artists from 28 countries in 13 languages, and, alongside Szymborska’s work, contains translations of Edith Södergran from the Swedish, Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz from the Spanish, Tun Wan-Cheng from the Chinese, Rivka Miriam from the Hebrew, and Anna Akhmatova from the Russian, among others. This collection is proof positive that CALYX has an eye for lasting contributions to literature and art, and champions those writers and artists who are relatively unknown on the sheer virtue of their talent—writers and artists who go on to be widely lauded.
